Interventions

What Is an Intervention?
"When all hope is gone, that’s where I step in."
An intervention, or as we prefer to call it, a “family meeting,” is a structured, compassionate conversation where loved ones come together to help someone struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. The goal is not confrontation—it’s to express concern, set healthy boundaries, and provide a clear path to treatment.
While families may attempt these discussions on their own, hiring a professional interventionist significantly increases the likelihood of success.
"When all hope is gone, that’s where I step in."
The Power of an Intervention
A staggering 8 out of 10 people say “yes” to treatment on the day of the intervention, and most of the remaining 2 out of 10 agree within a week—if their family holds firm boundaries.
Yet, only 2 out of 10 families move forward with an intervention. Why? Fear. Many worry about confrontation, upsetting their loved one, or believe things will fix themselves. But waiting often prolongs the suffering.
How an Interventionist Helps:
- Unites a divided family—some are ready to take action, while others enable.
- Cuts through fear and hesitation to create a strategic, structured approach.
- Delivers a powerful yet compassionate message that motivates change.
The truth? I’ve never seen someone stay mad at their family for intervening once they find recovery. They may resist at first, but in time, they realize that intervention saved their life.
Our Proven Intervention Process
Every intervention is customized to fit the family’s unique needs. Our approach is clinically focused, research-based, and highly strategic—like an attorney preparing for trial. We anticipate objections, prepare responses, and stay one step ahead.
An intervention is not about ganging up—it’s about uniting in love. The only other time people gather to share how much they love someone is at a funeral. This time, it’s to save a life.

What We Provide:
- Strategic planning for the intervention process
- Treatment selection & placement for the best care
- Coaching & guidance for families before, during, and after the intervention
- Case management for a smooth transition into treatment
- Transportation assistance to get your loved one safely to rehab
Our approach doesn’t just focus on the individual struggling with addiction—it also empowers families to stop enabling, set boundaries, and better understand addiction and recovery.
- Focuses on love and emotional connection rather than confrontation.
- Helps the individual feel supported and encouraged to change.
Based on the situation, I will recommend the best approach—or a combination of models—to maximize success.
How a Typical InterventionWorks
1. Family Consultation & Planning
- Private meeting to discuss your loved one’s addiction history, behaviors, and roadblocks.
- Selection of the most effective intervention model.
2. Intervention Preparation
- Family learns how to communicate effectively and avoid enabling.
- Each person writes a letter to read at the intervention, expressing love, concern, and boundaries.
- Coaching on what to expect, including common objections and emotional reactions.
3. The Intervention Itself
- Held in a neutral, controlled environment.
- Conversation remains calm, structured, and solution-focused under my guidance.
- If successful, immediate plans for admission to treatment are made.
4. What If They Refuse Help?
- 8 out of 10 people say yes on the spot, but some take longer.
- If they refuse, the family is coached on stopping enabling behaviors and enforcing boundaries to encourage acceptance of help.
